ISAAR (Internet Service Quality Assessment and Automatic Reaction) a QoE Monitoring and Enforcement Framework for Internet Services in Mobile Networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
In order to achieve acceptable service quality, the broad spectrum of Internet services requires differentiated handling and forwarding of the respective traffic flows within increasingly “Internet Protocol (IP)” based mobile networks. The “3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP)” standard based procedures allow for such service differentiation by means of dedicated “GPRS Tunnelling Protocol (GTP)” tunnels, which need to be specifically setup and potentially updated as the mixture of client initiated service consumption changes. The ISAAR (Internet Service quality Assessment and Automatic Reaction) framework augments existing quality of service functions in mobile networks by flow based network centric quality of experience monitoring and enforcement functions. The following chapters state the current situation followed by the explanation of the ISAAR architecture in chapter 3 and its internal realisation in chapters 4, 5 and 6. Chapter 7 gives an overview of the required signalling procedures and interfaces followed by a summary and outlook chapter 8.

A method to increasing the Quality of Service (QoS) in Wireless body area networks by providing a MAC layer Protocol based of Internet of Things
With the development of technology, the use of wireless telecommunication networks for the various affairs is essential. These networks are one of the safest and most widely used networks, for instance, in medical care and remote patient monitoring. What matters is the quality of service in these networks. The purpose of this paper is to increase packet transduction in a wireless body area netw...

We propose and investigate the Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) enabled mobility framework to improve the user mobility experience in heterogenous wireless networks. The framework considers the traditional IP network infrastructure, IPv6 based mobility support, multihoming, traffic flow transparent handovers and flat/dynamic mobility policy enforcement to guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS...
متن کاملUser-Oriented QoE Metrics and Subjective Assessment for Video Streaming Services on 3G Mobile Internet
To provide customer-satisfied video streaming services over 3G, network services providers turn to measure the video quality in term of quality of experience (QoE) rather than quality of service (QOS). In formal QoE definitions for video streaming services over 3G, QoE is either regarded as the average user opinion from the subjective point of view or combination of some technical parameters fr...
متن کاملCharging for Quality-of-Experience: A New Paradigm for Pricing IP-based Service
Over the last couple of years, the interdisciplinary research area of “Internet Economics” has received rapidly increasing attention, especially regarding various proposals for Qualityof-Service (QoS) aware charging of IP services. However, the continuously strong trend towards flat-rate pricing in today’s fixed and mobile networks indicates that QoS differentiation does not provide a suitable ...
متن کاملThe Use of Data Envelopment Analysis in the Design of Internet Networks to Ensure the Quality of Service
Choosing a superior Internet network by users or providing a desirable Internet network by ISPs is always one of the important decision issues in this area. Choosing a unique optimal network from among the best networks is still a big challenge. The purpose of this paper is to use the data envelopment analysis (DEA) decision-making technique to evaluate the existing Internet networks in order t...
